Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League Partners with SafetyOne
Partnership to provide families & town programs benefit from mobile safety & compliance platform

NATICK, MA; November 15th, 2019 – Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) today announced a partnership with SafetyOne to provide its member towns and families with use of the SafetyOne's technology platform beginning with the spring 2020 lacrosse season.

The SafetyOne platform allows MBYLL and its 98 member town programs to deliver an important Safety and Compliance tool for tracking both coach compliance requirements and coach training, on one dashboard.

In addition, SafetyOne delivers a solution for MBYLL volunteer administrators and coaches to better understand and manage player's background information such as pre-existing conditions, prior injuries, and other information provided by parents.

“SafetyOne brings our town administrators and coaches important medical information regarding their players on a mobile platform, launching our program management into the digital age, adding another layer of security, compliance and safety on the field,” said Jim Dalton, President of MBYLL. “Our goal is to provide opportunities for children to grow as athletes, individuals and members of a team. Adding SafetyOne to our program just makes sense and demonstrates our continued commitment to ensuring everyone has a fun, safe lacrosse experience.”

SafetyOne provides coaches and administrators with easy to access info provided by parents. This important medical information, in combination with SafetyOne's Safety Tools, can help stabilize common on-field injuries. SafetyOne also allows coaches to document player injuries and incidents providing immediate alerts to parents via instant notifications.

“SafetyOne addresses an existing problem in youth sports – the lack of immediate and mobile access to a players' history and emergency action plans,” said Jim Kelly, VP of Business and Product Development for SafetyOne.  “Medical professionals from around the country have helped us develop a secure resource for coaches to access on a mobile device when needed most.”

Regional Enrichment Funds Announcement

Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League Announces

Regional Enrichment Funding for 2019

(BOSTON, MA) – February 28, 2019 – Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) announced today that the Board of Directors approved $75,000 in regional enrichment funds for the 2019 season.   Each of the five regions in MBYLL will be allocated $15,000 to be used at their discretion. This follows board approval last Fall to reduce both the league player and coach registration fees for the 2019 season.

“The MBYLL Board of Directors took action over the past few years to lower our operating and insurance costs,” said Tom Spangenberg, President of MBYLL.  “These actions put us in a strong financial position to both lower league registration fees and provide funds to support enrichment programs across Central and Eastern Massachusetts.”

Representatives from each town meet at monthly regional meetings. This month they will be discussing how to best utilize the enrichment funds to meet the needs of their town programs.  Regions will look to host coach education clinics and player skills clinics, conduct end of season celebrations, and provide equipment to towns and individuals in need.

“Our mission as a league is to teach, grow and honor the game,” said Spangenberg.  Lowering fees and providing more education and experiences through enrichment funds are key steps to meeting our goals.”

Welcome to the 2019 Season

Dear youth lacrosse families,

The 2019 spring season is a month away and we cannot wait to get started! For those of you who are returning to your towns for another great season of youth lacrosse, welcome back! For those of you playing for the first time… we are so thrilled you decided to try this amazing sport: one of the oldest sports in North America – but also one of the fastest growing sports.

Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) is a confederation of 100 town programs. We are the league that your town plays in for boys games. As a league, we provide a schedule, rules, officials assignments, and governance. We support each town with coaching education and certification, your secondary accidental medical insurance (good for all of 2019 for all lacrosse events on the East Coast), and many other benefits that are exclusive to MBYLL athletes and families. This newsletter has a number of events and opportunities available to you. Please check it out and take advantage.

MBYLL is a volunteer-led organization. Though our spring season is only 10 short weeks from March 31 – June 2nd… our volunteer board, committees, and regional leaders work year-round for this experience hoping to make this enjoyable, educational, safer, valuable, and memorable for our players and coaches. Please follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and check out our website (www.mbyll.org).Please look out for our periodic newsletters and our electronic magazine The Scoop: Magazine of Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League

Thank you for being a part of an MBYLL town, for your commitment to your community, for being great ambassadors of sportsmanship and integrity, and to our parents: for being loyal, supportive, and positive spectators. MBYLL would not be the biggest and most acclaimed organized sports league in the United States without our amazing lacrosse families! So thank you for 27 years of excellence and growth.

Wishing you a terrific few more weeks of winter and we cannot wait for our first face-offs next month!

On behalf of the Board of Directors,

Joey Picard, MBYLL Director (as well as a fellow parent, coach, and megafan)
